Beginner Band Students:
First of all, thank you for your interest in signing up for band. In these challenging times, it becomes more apparent that music is so important in our lives and at school. I would like to speak to you about band and try to set you up for the summer to be ready for band class when school starts. I have created a web page for you to look at. It will have information for you and your parents, it will have videos of instrument demonstrations, and an Instrument Matching Tool for you to fill out. I will use this information to make contact and discuss, with you, any questions or concerns you may have. I want to make sure that everybody will get the instrument they choose, and at the same time, I will need to put you in the correct class. I will need to have your info as soon as possible so that I can get that info to the counselor to make sure you are set up for success.
Click on the button below and browse through the whole page. I hope you are staying safe , and I hope to see you soon!! Go Aggies!!
Beginning Band
Beginning band usually starts in the sixth grade, but sometimes if there is a schedule conflict, you can start in 7th grade or even 8th grade. One thing to keep in mind, though, the later you start, the harder it is to catch up with your grade level. Not to say that it's impossible, you just need to work harder.
Here are some videos to get you started on which instrument would be best for you.
High School Music Service (HSMS) has provided a video to get you started on instrument rentals or purchases.
Spanish version of HSMS.
Remember, whatever instrument you choose,
Be Part Of The Band.
Beginner band packets can be viewed or downloaded from the Forms page.
